Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to assist with the daily operations of the store and ensure that customers enjoy a clean, safe, and well-stocked shopping environment. General Workers play an important role in supporting store activities, maintaining cleanliness, receiving stock, and assisting customers when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Pack and unpack stock deliveries.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods.
- Ensure shelves are stocked and products are displayed correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness in store areas, stockrooms, and entrances.
- Remove damaged products and report stock issues.
- Assist customers with locating products.
- Follow company safety procedures and workplace policies.
- Support cashiers and other store staff during busy periods.
- Help with stock counts and inventory checks.
- Ensure the store remains organised and presentable at all times.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10, Grade 11, or Grade 12 (Matric).
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting and moving stock.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Previous retail or warehouse experience will be an advantage but is not required.
